About Austin Picks
Austin Picks: short ranked lists of Austin businesses, from taco trailers to tax preparers, for locals and new arrivals.
Austin Picks ranks the businesses Austinites actually use, from taco trailers to tax preparers, in short lists.
Why it exists
Austin has added people faster than almost any big US city, and many residents arrived in the last few years with nobody to ask. Search results run long and often go stale. A short ranked list is quicker.
Topics
Restaurants and coffee, health care, home and remodeling, cars, legal services, education, sports, pets and more. New lists every week.
Who it’s for
Newcomers here for jobs in tech or at UT, families settling in Pflugerville, Buda or Kyle, longtime locals replacing a place that closed, and visitors in town for SXSW, ACL or the Grand Prix.
Paid plans
Nobody pays to get on a list. A business already on one can buy Pro (its own profile with contact buttons and photos) or Top (one of the first spots on that list). Both are labeled. Everyone else stays where the ranking put them.
