Privacy policy
Austin Picks privacy policy: what is collected, the few providers involved, and your rights under California, Texas and other state laws.
Overview
Austin Picks (austinpicks.com) has no advertising: no AdSense, no ad networks, no tracking cookies. We collect only what the site needs to work. Personal information is not sold, and not shared for ads.
Data we handle
Technical request data (IP address, browser, page) for delivery and security. Emails you send us. For business owners: sign-in email, listing edits and, for paid plans, billing records.
Cookies
None for readers. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. Signed-in owners get one session cookie. Cloudflare Turnstile screens business-area forms for bots.
Providers
Cloudflare: hosting, security, analytics, email. Stripe: payments (we never see card numbers). OpenFreeMap: map tiles, fetched by your browser. Google Maps: the business lookup in “For businesses”.
Retention
Logs briefly; emails while useful; owner accounts while active; billing as the law requires.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents may request access to, correction of and deletion of their personal information, and may opt out of sale or sharing. We do neither and hold no sensitive personal information. No discrimination for using these rights.
Texas and other states
The Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws elsewhere give comparable rights, including an appeal if we turn a request down. We extend them to every user. Write to info@austinpicks.com; requests and appeals get an answer within 45 days.
Children
Not directed at children under 13.
