How to select an Austin instrument repair shop

  1. Name the instrument firstA guitar setup, keyboard fault, drum component, and brass repair require different experience. Start by filtering for the instrument category explicitly covered.
  2. Separate routine adjustment from restorationFor action or intonation concerns, a setup-focused shop may fit. Cracks, refrets, refinishing, structural work, or custom changes call for a more specialized conversation.
  3. List the symptoms and requested outcomeExplain whether the instrument buzzes, will not stay in tune, has electronic problems, or needs cosmetic restoration. Clear symptoms help determine which listed services are relevant.
  4. Ask how the estimate is handledGlinsky Customs notes that some pricing requires an in-person evaluation, while Mythic offers a complimentary personalized 30-minute evaluation. Confirm the process for your instrument.
